(NLL) - John Grant Jr. and Adam Jones of the Colorado Mammoth were named the NLLs Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week on Wednesday. Grant and Jones played huge roles to help Colorado complete a two-game sweep on consecutive nights last week in Edmonton and Calgary. Grant had the game-tying and winning markers among five goals with four assists, and collected six loose balls in a 13-12 win over the Edmonton Rush on Friday. Grant then notched four goals, six assists and became the fifth player in NLL history with 1,000 career points in a 13-12 overtime win Saturday over the Calgary Roughnecks. Jones finished with five goals and three assists – including one on Grants game-winning tally with 15 seconds left – to help defeat the Rush. The third overall pick in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft then scored three goals, including the final two in regulation to force overtime, added three assists and picked up three loose balls in the victory over the Roughnecks. Goaltender Brandon Miller of the Philadelphia Wings was picked as the Defensive Player of the Week while teammate Brodie Merrill collected Transition Player of the Week honors. Miller stopped 49 of 58 shots and allowed only two goals on eight power-play chances as the Wings topped the Washington Stealth 10-9 in overtime on Saturday.
