GATINEAU, Que. -- Canadian cyclist Clara Hughes has dedicated her latest victory to Daron Richardson, the daughter of former NHL player Luke Richardson who took her own life last November. Hughes won the time trial race at the 2011 Chrono Gatineau on Thursday, overcoming a crash to finish the 17.35-kilometre course with a wining time of 23 minutes 49.17 seconds. "I had to laugh at myself when I went down thinking that my husband Peter, who rarely sees me race, was likely on that corner watching me fall. "I kept saying to myself you cant lose this race like this and it really motivated me to go hard again and push through the effort of the last lap." Hughes, who now resides in Glen Sutton, Que., won four speedskating medals for Canada -- including one gold -- over three Winter Olympics.
