Canadian womens basketball head coach Allison McNeill says her team is ready to take advantage of its last chance to reach the Summer Games. Canada was drawn in a pool with France and Mali on Wednesday for the 2012 FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament in Turkey. McNeill, who has been with the national program for over a decade, said the squad that will head to Ankara for the June 25-July 1 event will be the strongest team she has ever put on the floor. She credits the development within the program, the teams maturation and the strong commitment of the players. "I think thats what this group has done," McNeill said from Burnaby, B.C. "Its by far the best group Ive coached." Experienced veterans like Kim Smith and Teresa Gabriele, both of Mission, B.C., and Chelsea Aubry of Kitchener, Ont., will be counted on to lead a team that is currently ranked 11th in the world. France holds the No. 8 position and Mali is at No. 19. Five of the 12 countries at the tournament will advance to the Games in London. "Do we have to play well? Yes. Do we have to get some breaks? Yes, of course," McNeill said. "But I know the players believe that we can get one of those five berths." Canadas last Olympic appearance came at the 2000 Games in Sydney. The Canadians finished fifth in their group with a 2-3 record and settled for 10th overall. Canada has been strong at the defensive end in recent years and McNeill is confident the offence will continue to improve. Canada is coming off a third-place finish at the FIBA Americas Championship last fall in Colombia. "I think weve been really striving and working," McNeill said. "A lot of people have 2012 circled on their calendar." In Turkey, the four quarter-final winners advance to London, and the four losers play a knockout bracket to decide the fifth qualifier. The other groups are Japan, Puerto Rico and Turkey; Argentina, Czech Republic and New Zealand; and Croatia, South Korea and Mozambique. The groups will play round-robin matches, with two advancing from each pool to the quarter-finals. The 12-country London lineup already includes host Britain, Angola, Australia, Brazil, China, Russia and the United States. 2015 Nike Roshe Run Purple White Mens Running Shoes .C. -- Torontos Rebecca Lee-Bentham beat American Lee Lopez on the first playoff hole on Friday to win the 98th playing of the Royale Cup Canadian womens amateur championship. nike air max 2015 nz . Rosberg was an impressive four tenths of a second quicker than world champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull, with the other Red Bull of Mark Webber third fastest. The Lotus pair of Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean were fourth and fifth on the timesheets respectively, with McLarens Jenson Button — who won last weekends season-opening Australian Grand Prix — in sixth. Williams Pastor Maldonado was seventh ahead of Mercedes Michael Schumacher. Second through seventh were separated by just a tenth of second. McLarens Lewis Hamilton, who set the fastest times in both of Fridays practice sessions, was down the order in ninth after losing a chunk of track time when he ran wide at the bend entering the back straight, damaging a set of tires and possibly inflicting other damage that kept hhim in the garage until the final ten minutes.dddddddddddd Saubers Kamui Kobayashi completed the top ten. Light rain began at the start of the session but soon cleared, and running was done on dry-weather tires. Rosbergs best ever qualifying performance in 109 races is second, but he has a strong chance of finally taking pole later Saturday. The Mercedes is well suited to the long straights of the Sepang circuit, as it has an innovative aerodynamic device that channels air from the rear wing to the front to reduce drag on fast sections. Ferraris struggles continued, with Fernando Alonso 13th on the timesheets and Felipe Massa in 18th. The team has acknowledged it is well behind its rivals in development early this season, and it will take several races to catch up. The two HRT cars were both inside seven per cent of Rosbergs time, suggesting they will be quick enough to beat that same threshold in qualifying and be eligible for Sundays race. They failed to qualify in Australia. cheap nfl jerseys cheap soccer jerseys ' ' '
