When legendary quarterback Brett Favre announced his return to the NFL from what has become a seemingly annual flirtation with retirement Mike Gartner Rangers Jersey , many second guessed the Minnesota Vikings’ decision to sign “The Gunslinger”. On Sunday, Favre and the Vikings answered those critics in the best way possible-with a lopsided 34-3 beatdown of the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Brad Childress mixed up a bunch of metaphors as he took a swipe at the prognosticators who picked Dallas to win:
“The Tasmanian devils were coming from Dallas that were about to bombard the state of Minnesota and run through us like Sherman through the South. All of us felt it quite palpably.”
Cowboys’ QB didn’t have much to say in defeat:

Cowboys’ head coach Wade Phillips had a similar take:

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons had their open session of organized team activities on Wednesday with a handful of players absent or out of action.
Starting receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White were not on the practice field, as expected. The Falcons continue to be cautious with Jones coming off foot surgery Mark Messier Rangers Jersey , while White is mourning the loss of his younger brother, who was murdered in South Carolina. Jones is not expected to return until training camp while White's timetable remains unclear.

Rookie running back Devonta Freeman was excused from practice to attend the 20th Annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles.

3. Speaking of reps, tight end Levine Toilolo had an undisclosed injury that limited his reps, and he spent time with the training staff during the session. Bear Pascoe and Mickey Shuler got a lot of work as the blocking tight ends in double-tight end sets.
