SHERBROOKE, Que. -- Anthony Duclairs goal lifted the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League past Russia 4-3 in the Subway Super Series on Wednesday. The result gave the QMJHL a two-game sweep of the Russians after a 3-2 win Monday. The teams were tied 3-3 when Duclair, a Quebec Remparts forward, scored at 12:26 of the third period to put his side ahead for good. Daniel Audette, Anthony Mantha and Christopher Clapperton also scored for the QMJHL, which traded goals with Russia and never led by more than one. Mark Skutar, Igor Rudenkov and Ivan Barbashev had a goal each for Russia, which next opens a two-game series with the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday. Sebastien Auger stopped 22 saves for the QMJHL, while Russias Igor Shesterkin allowed all four goals on 41 shots. The first period was busy with the teams splitting two goals apiece. Audette gave the QMJHL a lead just 3:11 into the game, but Russia tied it up on a power-play goal by Skutar at 13:57. Just under three minutes later Mantha restored the lead with a power-play goal of his own, but Rudenkov tied the game with eight seconds left in the period. The QMJHL didnt wait long to grab the lead again. Clapperton put his team ahead 3-2 4:33 into the second, but Russia again responded on a goal by Berbashev at 9:58. The experienced Ivanovic broke for 6-5 and finally claimed the set after 47 minutes on her fourth chance, with Bouchard saving a third set-winner on an Ivanovic error before netting a backhand. In the second set, Bouchard kept calm as she began to make up ground, taking a 3-1 lead on a break. But Ivanovic showed her own fight in a 10-minute seventh game, which she won to break back 4-5 after six deuces. Ivanovic was then taken off court by a trainer for treatment on a thigh, with Bouchard forced to wait for more than seven minutes.
