Inextricably linked with the larger-than-life legend of Michael Jordan, the Air Jordan 12 Flu Game releases in May.A clean mix of black tumbled leather upper and scaly red on the forefoot, the Air Jordan 12 Flu Game isn’t just a classic colorway, it’s a piece of MJ folklore; the shoe that His Airness wore during Nike Air Max 2016 Dames Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals while he was so ill with food poisoning that he could barely stand. Jordan went on to pour in 38 points before collapsing into Scottie Pippen’s arms in the game’s final seconds, helping the Bulls seal a crucial swing game that would give them a 3-2 lead over the Jazz in the series. The Bulls closed out the Finals two nights later.Just as we’re seeing in the Air Jordan 1 Low line, Jordan Brand is remaking iconic Air Jordan 1 High colorways in AJKO form, bringing classic, even iconic looks to another beloved if subtly tweaked silhouette. Next up, the Air Jordan 1 KO Shadow.Sporting the AJKO’s signature composition, the Air Jordan 1 KO Shadow goes black canvas through the upper with a grey canvas toebox, touches of the latter tone also appearing on the leather Swoosh and collar. For a true retro feel, “NIKE” branding appears on the tongue, in lieu of Nike Air Max Thea Damen the more contemporary (and less preferred) Jumpman Nike Air Max Classic BW Damen logo.We have sort of a good news-bad news situation for you, as it pertains to the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Beach that drops later this month.The bad news? It’s going to cost you about $650 to get into a pair, a high if not entirely unexpected price considering Just Don’s high-fashion reputation and proclivity for using premium materials. (And the materials here certainly are premium.)The good news? This year, that rumored $650 price tag will net you not just the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Beach, but a hat as well. Yes, it’s a pack set-up. Last year, Just Don’s Jordan hats cost $675 apiece, while the shoe retailed for an additional $275. So if you’re inclined toward silver-linings, you could say that this year’s Air Jordan 2 is basically free with the purchase of the hat. Presuming all of the rumors turn out true, anyway.Drake’s Air Nike Air Max 90 Essential Donne Nike Blazer Basse Donne Jordan 10 OVO launched late in 2015 to universal acclaim and instant sellouts everywhere. So releasing only that white colorway of the shoe would be sort of like leaving money on the table for Jordan Brand, right?Of course. And so it is that the black Air Jordan 10 OVO will launch next month, the hotly anticipated follow-up to the white pair. The style is the same, from the monochromatic palette to the premium leather and stingray-style texturing, simply executed in black instead of white. We imagine the worldwide immediate sellouts will be the same, too.You’ve seen sneaker unboxing videos before, but never quite like this. Big sneaker milestones deserve big celebrations, after all.And so, when reviewing the Air Jordan XXX — a shoe that was officially unveiled this week — renowned video personality Jacques Slade brought in two special Nike Free Run 2 Damske guests: Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith, the shoe’s primary designers.Jordan Brand’s quest to Adidas ZX Flux Damen remake all OG Air Jordan 1 Highs as lows continues this year. Hot on the heels of the Shadow and Royal colorways, the Air Jordan 1 Low Chicago is poised to launch next.All the classic 1985 good looks are here — the white leather upper framed by red overlays; the black accents; the retro “NIKE AIR” branding on the tongue — they’re simply executed in a lighter, leaner lowtop silhouette.Earlier this week we rolled out the 2016 Nike Black History Month collection, an impressive line of some of Nike and Jordan’s best models that center around intricate Pan African-inspired colors and patterns. But the Air Adidas Yeezy Boot 350 Jordan 9 Low Gym Red that will actually release in 2016 adds in scaly embossing along the mudguard, collar and heel, imparting a more fashion-forward look than DA’s sleeker, sportier version.Over the last three decades, the Air Jordan line has transformed; not only transformed itself, but the sport of basketball and even the footwear industry, really, evolving what exactly a sneaker could be. And in a sense, it’s all been building to this, the next big milestone for the franchise. Introducing the Air Jordan XXX (Air Jordan 30 if you don’t want the risky search engine results), engineered from equal parts Michael Jordan the player and Michael Jordan the design collaborator.Tinker Hatfield began sketching designs for the anniversary shoe in February 2015 at the request of MJ himself, Tinker using a famous picture of MJ dunking as inspiration for the initial concept.Inspired by Michael Jordan’s seemingly supernatural ability for flight, the Air Jordan 4 Dunk From Above drops this spring.It’s fitting, really. While “Flight” has become synonymous with Nike Basketball, it wasn’t always that way. In fact, the Air Jordan 4 was the first Jordan to feature the word. On this Dunk From Above edition, that theme is brought out in navy leather and gold accents that draw from the US Air Force, an idea underscored by the thematic tags inside each tongue.
