WARSAW, Poland -- Poland coach Waldemar Fornalik was fired Wednesday following his teams 2-0 loss to England in a World Cup qualifying match. Poland lost to England at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, giving the English a spot in next years tournament in Brazil. Poland lost its chance to qualify after losing to Ukraine last week. Polish football association president Zbigniew Boniek said a new coach will be hired in two weeks. His task will be to qualify for the 2016 European Championship in France.
