Bookending an NBA All-Star Weekend replete with absolute must-have releases, the Air Jordan 1 Low Chicago hits stores on Sunday, February 14. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.Reimagining the iconic original “Chicago” colorway as a lowtop, the shoe rocks a clean, crisp, premium white leather upper, framed with red overlays and offset by black Swooshes and inner-lining. It’s new, certainly, yet inescapably familiar; in the best way possible.The Air Jordan 4 Cement is flying surprisingly under-the-radar considering its imminence — it launches February 13 — and its primary selling point: It may well be the best release of an All-Star Weekend that’s chock-full of dope drops.An absolute icon, the shoe comes correct in its white leather upper, Adidas SuperStar Femme black-speckled grey trim, and black and red accents. All those elements are faithfully recreated compared to the OG 1989 launch, and that historical accuracy is underscored by the heels and outsoles, flush with “NIKE” branding in lieu of contemporary Jumpman logos. If there were a Sneaker Hall of Fame, the Air Jordan 4 Cement would be in on the first ballot.Glittering and gleaming, the Air Jordan 5 Low All Star 2016 arrives at select retailers this weekend.Today, take a closer look at the infuriatingly kids-exclusive colorway. Marrying together a subtle black print and grey-based upper, all with that aforementioned glittery finish, the shoe promises that the quasi-camo look ain’t exactly subtle.With the 2016 NBA All-Star Game firmly in the crosshairs now — it’s just next weekend! — today we finally get a look at one of the most intriguing hitherto unseen shoes: the Air Jordan 1 High All Star 2016.Starting out in solid-black, the AJ1’s leather upper is then subtly printed with a net-like pattern over the heel and midfoot, a rather on-the-nose Adidas Yeezy Boot 350 nod to Michael Jordan’s sport of choice. Silver Swooshes offer an elegant touch of contrast meanwhile, and various of MJ’s playoff stats are printed on the lateral-side collar in a digital scoreboard-style font.This is a big weekend for releases. But Saturday has a preponderance of heat on tap, starting Nike Air Max 90 Damen Schwarz here: the Air Jordan 2 Alternate 87.Blending something old and something Nike Air Huarache Femme new, the brand new colorway sports a black leather upper overlaid with snakeskin-embossing and offset by red accents, a look inspired by how an MJ PE would have looked on the AJ2 back in 1987. No, it’s never released before, but it certainly looks the part of an OG.The exclamation point on a week full of dope drops — Kobe 11s and Foamposite Ones and . . . — the Air Jordan 1 KO Shadow releases tomorrow, February 6.Combining the colorway of an OG Air Jordan 1 High with the distinctive materials of the AJKO, the new Shadow pairs black and grey on a cool, casual canvas upper, with luxe pops of leather around the collar and Swoosh. Punctuating the throwback feel, “NIKE” appears on each tongue, instead of the more contemporary Jumpman branding.Carmelo Anthony Nike Air Huarache Womens may have played for Syracuse, but he loaned his signature shoe to another Adidas ZX Flux Femme college hoops power this week: the Marquette Golden Eagles.The Jordan Melo M12 Marquette PE was the perfect complement to MU’s uniforms, with powder blue mesh pairing with navy blue leather on the upper, while bright pops of gold contrast on the branding and eyelets. The sleek lifestyle silhouette nearly glows in a crinkled red leather upper, transitioning to a smooth, perforated nubuck-like material on the medial side and the distinctive under-wrap tongue. Basketball DNA courses through the Galaxy’s veins, but this is an easy everyday-wear look.We’ve got a big weekend for releases coming up. Things kicked off today, really, with the Kobe 11 Last Emperor, before the hoops-turned-lifestyle heat ramps up tomorrow with the University Blue Foam One. Despite those, the week’s best release may just be saved for the traditional Saturday, and I don’t mean the Air Jordan 2 Alternate. . . . OK, maybe the Air Jordan 2 Alternate.If not though, here’s the other frontrunner for best-of-the-week: the Air Jordan 1 KO Shadow. Combining the iconic colors and color-blocking of the Nike Air Max 2015 Damen leather Air Jordan 1 High OG with the prized canvas construction of the AJKO, the shoe manages a throwback appearance in a contemporary style, all with the touch of casual style typical of AJKOs.
