Those 36-year-old legs of Manu Ginobilis have been feeling pretty spry this season. Cheap San Diego Chargers Jerseys . That spring in his step that had been missing for so much of last season was back, helping the Argentine magician become a game-changer again for the San Antonio Spurs. So when the lane opened up in the third quarter Tuesday night against the Houston Rockets, Ginobili decided to go for it. He rose up, cradled the ball in his left hand and threw down a solid, one-handed dunk. And with that, Ginobili joined the growing list of injured Spurs. The team said Wednesday that Ginobili strained his left hamstring on the dunk and will miss the next three to four weeks. Ginobili joins Danny Green (broken finger), Kawhi Leonard (broken left hand) and Tiago Splitter (sprained right shoulder) on the teams injured list, a run of bad luck that has torn apart the teams depth, particularly on the wing. "You play the guys on the bench," San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said. "We cant play the guys on the other team. I know that." The team is hopeful Splitter, who hasnt played since Jan. 4, will return in time for the teams annual rodeo road trip, a 10-game stint that begins Monday in New Orleans. That would help out Tim Duncan and the big men up front, but the problems on the perimeter remain. After struggling for much of last season, Ginobili signed a two-year contract to remain in San Antonio. He has rebounded this season to resume his role as the Spurs playmaker off the bench, averaging 12.1 points, 4.5 assists and shooting 52 per cent on his 2-point shots. During a monthlong stretch from the middle of December to the middle of January, Ginobili scored at least 20 points five times in a 16-game span to help the Spurs once again establish themselves among the NBAs elite teams. Hes been pretty healthy as well, missing two games earlier in January because of a sore left hamstring before injuring it more severely on Tuesday night. Ginobili, who has long been the emotional centre of this close-knit team, was dejected as he limped off the court. His injury puts even more responsibility on the shoulders of veteran Marco Belinelli, who has been a reliable shooter in a supporting role after coming over in free agency from the Chicago Bulls. Belinelli is averaging 10.9 points and shooting 46.7 per cent from 3-point range for the Spurs. With the injuries to Leonard and Green, Belinelli had become a starter on the wing and seen his playing time steadily increase. Belinelli played 38 minutes in the loss to Houston, and the Spurs recently signed NBDL standout Othyus Jeffers to a 10-day contract to give them another warm body on the perimeter. Thanks in large part to Ginobilis return to form, the Spurs entered Wednesdays game against the Bulls at 33-12, good for second place in the hyper-competitive Western Conference. But theyve lost three of their last four games, are 1-11 against the top seven teams in the league and now face the daunting challenge of that long road trip without Ginobili, and with Portland (33-13) and the Clippers (32-15) right on their heels. Chicago is facing its own injuries woes. All-Star point guard Derrick Rose was lost for the season with a knee injury for the second consecutive year and starting centre Joakim Noah (illness) and guard Kirk Hinrich (right hamstring) are game-time decisions for tonights game against San Antonio. So, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said he has little empathy for the Spurs, not because Chicago is also battling injuries, but because of how deep San Antonio is. "Its the nature of the league. Its the grind of an 82-game season. Youre going to take injuries on. Its how you respond and the Spurs have always done a good job with that. Its the way the Spurs are built." wholesale jerseys . Valpo (22-10), the fourth seed in this years event, also saw Cory Johnson and Howard Little score in double figures with 15 and 14 points, respectively. The ninth-seeded Penguins (9-21) were paced by Damian Eargle with 21 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots. cheap jerseys . At least he could smile. The Chicago Cubs? Numb, just like always. Jay Bruce hit a tying double and scored on Cesar Izturis two-out single in the 13th inning Monday night, rallying Cincinnati to a 5-4 victory that gave the Cubs their fourth straight loss. http://www.jerseyscheapnfl.us.com/ . His job in jeopardy after a trade earlier in the day, Cunningham bunted home the go-ahead run with a squeeze play, and the Indians beat Detroit 3-2 Tuesday night and moved within three games of the AL Central-leading Tigers. nfl jerseys china . Former No. 1 Roger Federer joined Djokovic in the round of 64 with a victory of his own on Monday. The second-seeded Djokovic had little trouble in a 6-2, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Dutchman Thiemo De Bakker. cheap jerseys from china . The deal was the talk of the baseball world. But the games power brokers didnt seem too interested in talking about the trade in public, perhaps waiting to see its full scope. "Not today, boys," Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria said as he strolled by a group of reporters. CONOVER, N.C. -- Bob Tway was walking from the putting green to the first tee at Rock Barn on Friday morning when he saw Mike Goodes shot a 28 on the front nine. "After playing the pro-am we knew we had to shoot low," Tway said. "But then when you see someone shoot 28, I think it kind of shocks you in that, Ooh, were going to have to shoot really low." No problem for Tway, especially when you have only 23 putts. Tway birdied the 18th hole for a 9-under 63 on Friday to open a one-shot lead over Goodes, Tommy Armour III, Joe Ozaki and Mark Wiebe after the first round of the Champions Tours Greater Hickory Classic. After shooting a 62 in the final round on the same course last year when the event was played in October, Tway took advantage of the hot conditions that made for target golf. Rock Barn was tamed by soft greens, firm fairways and little wind. The 69 of 81 players broke par, a record for any round in a Champions Tour event since records began in 1983. "Right now the ball is going forever," Tway said. "Youre hitting clubs off the tee that you wouldnt even have dreamed of last year." Combine that with his hot putter and the 52-year-old Tway could finally be in line for his first victory on the 50-and-over tour. The 1986 PGA Championship winner doesnt have a top-10 finish this year. "I dont know if you ever think anybody is due in this darn game," Tway said. "I think the thing is I still really enjoy practicing. I enjoy playing. As long as I feel that passion for it Ill continue to do it. As soon as I lose that Im out of here. "I still have that desire to get better." Tway will enter the weekend with 23 other players within four shots of the lead. Mark Calcavecchia, Mark OMeara and David Eger opened with 65s. Jeff Sluman, Kenny Perry and Jerry Pate were in the group three back. Rod Spittle of Niagara Falls, Ont., shot a 71 and is tied for 59th at 1-under par. The early part of the day was dominated by talk off potentially the first 59 on the Champions Tour. cheap jerseys. Goodes eye-popping front nine included eight birdies. He made long putts and short ones, reached par-5s in two and stuck a 4-iron to 12 feet on No. 9 before sinking the putt for his sixth straight birdie. "Thats a lot of made its," Goodes said, smiling, as he went over his round. Goodes couldnt keep the magic going, shooting an even-par 36 on the back. "The front nine was fun. I would have liked to have played it again for the back nine," said Goodes, who was one shot shy of matching the tour record for best front-nine score. "I hit the ball really good on the front and made all the putts. It was kind of a dream round." The 54-year-old Goodes career-low round maybe wasnt that big of a surprise. The late bloomer from nearby Reidsville who didnt pro until he turned 50, shot a 65 on Sunday in Iowa to tie for third. "I think my distance control and my irons have been a lot better the last couple of weeks," said Goodes, who won his lone Champions Tour title in 2009. "Ive had a lot more shorter birdie putts. Instead of being 20 feet short of the hole or 20 feet long, theyre getting a lot closer." That was also the case for Armour, who is without a top-10 finish in nine starts. But hes gained confidence since seeking advice about his struggling iron play. "From about the middle of last year until about three weeks ago Ive been hitting the ball badly," Armour said. "Ive been hitting a lot of fat shots with some hook on them. I just couldnt figure out why. I saw a couple of people about it, came up with some ideas and its working." It was working for just about everybody except defending champion Gary Hallberg, who shot a 73. With the weather expected to remain the same over the final two rounds, Tway predicted it would take 20 under or better to win. "Its always tough to get the first one," Tway said about his Champions Tour drought. "It would be nice." ' ' '
