Paris, France (Sports Network) - World No. Cheap Miami Heat Jerseys . 1 Caroline Wozniacki and reigning champion Francesca Schiavone posted straight-set wins Wednesday at the French Open, while third-seeded Vera Zvonareva also moved on by barely surviving her second-round match at Stade Roland Garros. Wozniacki, fresh off her title in Brussels last week, notched a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) victory over Canadas Aleksandra Wozniak on Court Chatrier. "I started off really well, and everything was going the way I wanted it to," Wozniacki said. "Second set, she played better. I started to play a little bit worse. Thankfully I finished it in two sets. It could easily have been three." Wozniacki, who again played with a wrap on her left thigh, committed 24 unforced errors in an uncomfortable victory. "Its preventative," Wozniacki said about the wrap. "I felt it a little bit last week and I didnt want to make it worse, so I just do it for protection, because, I mean, there is no reason to make it worse. I mean, its not bothering me while Im playing or anything, so its okay." Wozniacki, in her quest to claim a first-ever Grand Slam title, will next face 28th-seeded Slovak Daniela Hantuchova, who advanced to round three with a 6-1, 6-2 pasting of Italian Sara Errani. The 2010 U.S. Open and Wimbledon runner-up Zvonareva trailed 2-5 in the third set and faced a match point against big-serving German Sabine Lisicki, who ultimately succumbed to pressure and injury late in the match. Zvonareva saved the match point in the eighth game of the third set and also watched Lisicki serve for the match while leading 5-3 in the stanza, but the Russian broke her German counterpart, who then called for a trainer with a 5-4 advantage. The trainer twice massaged Lisickis right thigh. Lisicki appeared to be hobbled by cramps, and when Zvonareva finally closed out the bout on her second match point when Lisicki sent one final backhand long, the German barely shook hands with the Russian at the net before crumbling to the court in front of her chair. The 21-year-old Lisicki left Court 1 on a stretcher as a precaution, and Zvonareva settled for a 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 decision. Lisicki missed last years French Open because of an ankle injury. Zvonareva will meet Aussie Anastasia Rodionova in the round of 32. A fifth-seeded Schiavone, meanwhile, drubbed 101st-ranked Russian Vesna Dolonts 6-1, 6-2 in 72 minutes on Chatrier. Schiavone has now won her last nine matches at Roland Garros, where she upset Aussie Samantha Stosur in last years final to become the first-ever Italian woman to capture a major title. Up next for the feisty Schiavone will be 29th-seeded Chinese Peng Shuai, who shut down Slovenian Polona Hercog 7-5, 6-1 to reach the third round in Paris for the first time. An eighth-seeded Stosur, meanwhile, joined the parade into the third round with a 66-minute 6-0, 6-2 thrashing of Romanian Simona Halep. Stosur will square off against Gisela Dulko in the third round. The Argentine veteran Dulko notched a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over struggling Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova, who reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last summer. Tenth-seeded former world No. 1 Jelena Jankovic advanced with a 6-3, 6-2 handling of Russian Vera Dushevina, while 11th-seeded French crowd favorite Marion Bartoli outlasted Belarus Olga Govortsova 6-4, 6-7 (1-7), 6-2. Jankovic is a former U.S. Open runner-up and three-time French Open semifinalist. The Serbian star reached the final four in Paris last year. Bartoli was a surprise Wimbledon finalist back in 2007. Up next for Jankovic will be rising American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, while Bartoli will encounter German Julia Goerges. A 17th-seeded Goerges rallied for a 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 win over Czech Lucie Safarova, while Mattek-Sands knocked out fellow American Varvara Lepchenko 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. Mattek-Sands is now projected to pass seven-time Grand Slam champ Venus Williams when the womens rankings are released after the French Open. That move would make Mattek-Sands the No. 2 American, behind only 13-time major titlist Serena Williams. Some other winners on Wednesday included seeded Russians Svetlana Kuznetsova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Kuznetsova, this years 13th seed and the 2009 French champ, rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Romanias Irina-Camelia Begu in a mere 47 minutes, while the No. 14 Pavlyuchenkova earned a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) win over Germanys Mona Barthel. In other second-round play, the aforementioned Rodionova rolled past Romanian Edina Gallovits-Hall 6-1, 6-4, Canadian Rebecca Marino overcame Spaniard Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, and Spains Nuria Llagostera Vives vaulted past Frances Alize Cornet 6-0, 6-2. The second round is scheduled to conclude here on Thursday, including matches for second-seeded former world No. 1 Kim Clijsters, fourth-seeded rising Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, sixth-seeded Australian Open runner-up Li Na and seventh-seeded former top-ranked star Maria Sharapova. The two-time French Open runner-up Clijsters will take on Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus. The Belgian wife and mother has won the last two major titles -- this years Aussie Open and last years U.S. Open. The four-time Grand Slam winner has never titled at Roland Garros. Sharapova, who will face Frances Caroline Garcia on Thursday, is a three-time major champ who needs the French Open to complete a coveted career Grand Slam. St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay has now beaten every current major league team. Evan Longoria homered off Logan Ondrusek to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning, propelling the Rays to a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the middle test of a three-game series at Tropicana Field. Cincinnatis Jay Bruce had blasted a game-tying homer off Tampa Bays Kyle Farnsworth to begin the top of the ninth. The Rays picked up their first win in eight games vs. Cincinnati, the lone team they previously didnt have a win against. Despite blowing his second save of the season, Farnsworth (3-1) earned the win after Longoria deposited Ondruseks (3-3) second pitch into the left-field seats for his third career walk-off home run. Only one run was up on the board through the first seven innings, a solo shot to right field in the fourth off the bat of Tampa Bay designated hitter Johnny Damon. The Reds solved Tampa Bay starter David Price in the eighth, scoring twice to take the lead. Drew Stubbs led off with a triple and scored the tying run on a single by Edgar Renteria. Price struck out the next two batters, matching his career- high of 12, before Joey Votto ripped the left-handers 119th and final pitch into the left-field corner ffor an RBI double. Cheap Washington Redskins Jerseys. Joel Peralta fanned Scott Rolen to end the inning and was in line for the win after a bloop double by Damon put the Rays up 3-2 in the home half of the eighth. Price couldnt get a decision despite piling up 12 strikeouts, tying a career- high. Its frustrating, but we won, Price said of not getting a win under his belt. Thats the good thing. John Jaso and Sam Fuld hit consecutive singles off Cincinnati starter Johnny Cueto, who was replaced by Bill Bray after Reid Brignac flied to left for the second out. Damon then hit a popup and Reds left fielder Chris Heisey nearly made an incredible diving grab, but to no avail, as both runners crossed the plate. The teams were all even when Bruce drilled a 3-2 offering from Farnsworth to straightaway center. What an interesting game. Both starting pitchers were fabulous, both sides, Rays manager Joe Maddon said. Their guy was really impressive and so was ours. GAME NOTES:Price, who retired the first 14 batters he faced, gave up two runs on five hits in 7 2/3 innings...Cueto was charged with three runs on four hits and fanned six in 7 2/3 frames...Renteria now has 899 career RBI...Cincinnati second baseman Brandon Phillips celebrated his 30th birthday.
