SEATTLE -- Clint Dempsey pointed at his wrist and mouthed "about time." After nine games, Dempsey finally got on the board in his return to Major League Soccer with Seattle, only to see Los Angeles striker Robbie Keane get a late equalizer that put the Sounders in the position of having to play an extra round in the MLS playoffs. Dempsey scored off a cross from Lamar Neagle in the 30th minute, but Keanes half-volley in the 78th minute gave the Galaxy a 1-1 draw with Seattle on Sunday night in the MLS regular-season finale. The result left Los Angeles in third in the Western Conference and put Seattle in fourth, meaning the Sounders will host Colorado in the play-in round on Wednesday night. The winner of the play-in game will face Western Conference regular-season champion Portland in the conference semifinals. Meanwhile, the Galaxy will take on second-place Real Sale Lake in the two-leg conference semifinals. "Weve had a good run since August," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. "Weve done a good job and well hopefully be healthy by the weekend when we play. Well be in a good position to be competitive and hopefully win the first series." The disappointing draw for Seattle -- in front of another massive crowd of 66,218 -- capped a miserable final month that wasted a chance to win the Western Conference and Supporters Shield. The Sounders were winless in their final five games, including a four-game losing streak that was snapped with Sundays draw. Seattle hasnt won since Sept. 13 when it defeated Salt Lake, but it will open the post-season with Colorado at home and possibly rival Portland at home. "Were due for a win. Thats the most important thing," Seattle midfielder Brad Evans said. "Were due for a win and Im really happy we have this game at home." The Galaxy could argue they should have gotten out of Seattle with a victory due to a blown call late in the first half that negated a Los Angeles goal. Omar Gonzalez came open at the back post on a corner kick from Landon Donovan and his header beat goalkeeper Michael Gspurning. Seattle midfielder Osvaldo Alonso appeared to clear the ball off the line, but television replays confirmed the missed call. Gonzalezs header clearly bounced beyond the goal line, kicking up rubber pellets, before Alonsos clearance. Donovan and Keane were immediately irate, getting in the face of referee Mark Geiger. Keane then turned his barking to assistant referee Greg Barkey, who was standing on the end line for the corner kick. But Keanes late goal gave Los Angeles the draw. It was his 16th of the season and seventh in the last 12 months against Seattle. The Galaxy closed the season with eight points in their final four games to overtake the Sounders and avoid the extra round of the post-season. "I dont see it from where I am, but I was told it was about a yard over the line. For some reason, I think we should be able to see that one," Arena said. "Were fortunate to get out of it, not using that as a major sticking point in the game." The bright spot for Seattle was Dempsey getting his first point. Neagles cross floated into the penalty area and Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo got the slightest touch trying to deflect the pass. The touch by Penedo took Gonzalez out of the play due to his momentum. Without breaking stride, Dempsey made a slight adjustment to hit the ball with the outside of his right foot and past Penedo as he tried to get back in position. Dempsey had gone 590 minutes since his first action for Seattle without a goal or assist. "I think that was important for him, takes a lot of pressure off of him so hes going to be more confident and allows us to make sure we find him," Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said. "I thought we did a good job of finding him." cheap nfl jerseys . They didnt miss their second. Torii Hunter had two hits and two RBIs in the Tigers seven-run third inning that propelled them to a 10-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night. "We just got pitches that we could drive," said Hunter, who doubled twice among his three hits. "He left some balls up where we could capitalize on them. This guy pitches really well against us. We dont score many runs off him. But tonight we felt good at the plate and I think we were a little patient today and got some pitches we could handle." Nick Castellanos had a home run and three RBIs to back Rick Porcello (3-1), who gave up four runs and six hits with four strikeouts in five-plus innings for the Tigers. Rajai Davis added three hits to raise his average to .354. Correia (0-3) gave up eight runs -- seven earned -- and eight hits in 2 1-3 innings for Minnesota. It was his shortest outing since going just two innings last Aug. 5 against the Royals. Chris Colabello drove in his 27th run for the Twins, setting a franchise record for RBIs in April. Jason Kubel had two doubles among his three hits for the Twins. Brian Dozier hit his seventh homer of the season and Kurt Suzuki drove in two runs, giving him 19 RBIs on the year, which leads all catchers. Correia served up a two-run homer to Castellanos in the second -- and probably only got through that inning thanks to a poor decision by third base coach Dave Clark to send slow-footed Alex Avila from first base on a double by Andrew Romine. Avila was thrown out at home and Ian Kinsler grounded out to short-circuit the rally. "I was missing from the get-go," Correia said. "Balls were just kind of running back over the middle. I got away with it for an inning or so and then it caught up to me." But the Tigers had more in store for Correia. Hunter led off the third with a doublee and, after Miguel Cabreras groundout, the next five batters reached base with three hits and two walks, the last one from Romine with the bases loaded to make it 5-1.dddddddddddd. Hunter added a two-run single off Anthony Swarzak later in the inning that pushed the lead to 9-1. "They teach that in baseball: The most important inning is the inning after your team scores," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. "We were able to bounce back and score not just a few but seven." There are no statements delivered in April, but the Tigers did throw a little cold water on what has been a surprising start to the season for the Twins. Minnesota has lost at least 96 games in each of the past three years, but rode the second-highest scoring offence in the American League to an 11-10 start that put the Twins right on heavily favoured Detroits heels in the AL Central. "Its something positive you can build off of and thats what were going to do, try to carry it over to the next day," Hunter said. "Usually when you get a loss, as a human being you kind of think about that negative and it can carry over and linger. But since we won and its positive, just try to build off it." After breezing through the first five innings, Porcello didnt get an out in the sixth before being lifted for Justin Miller. Ausmus had to use five more pitchers to finish the game, but that big third inning gave his team plenty of cushion to absorb a four-run sixth by the Twins.
