KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes will be out for three months, according to Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos. The 29-year-old shortstop suffered a severe ankle sprain on Friday. The Jays GM added that there is no fracture but that another MRI will be needed due to severe swelling. The Jays have placed Reyes on the 15-day disabled list and recalled Munenori Kawasaki from Triple-A Buffalo. Reyes injured his left ankle in Fridays 8-4 win over the Royals. Reyes slid awkwardly stealing second base in the sixth inning; he was tended to by trainers from both teams and eventually carted off the field. Kawasaki, 31, hit .192 in 61 games for Seattle in 2012. He signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays on March 14 and began the season in Buffalo, where hes 2-5 (.400) on the young season. Reyes absence has forced a number of changes in the Jays Saturday line-up. Emilio Bonifacio will play right field and hits lead-off ahead of Melky Cabrera. Jose Bautista returns to third base and hits third before designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion. First baseman Adam Lind hits fifth and Colby Rasmus hits sixth. Maicer Izturis returns to second base after missing two games and hits eighth ahead of Henry Blanco, who is inserted into the line-up to catch R.A. Dickey. Kawasaki draws in at shortstop and will hit ninth. Wholesale Jerseys US . Only the seven-time All-Star forward has signed with the Clippers. With all the rumours of Rick Nash to the Maple Leafs floating around, another Columbus Blue Jacket – centre Jeff Carter – could be the better fit in Toronto. The Globe and Mail suggests that Carter should be Leafs GM Brian Burkes target, citing the lower price tag it would take to acquire him. The Globe goes on to say that Los Angeles could be a better landing place for Nash. Out of the Bidding? Already having made two trades to acquire defencemen Nicklas Grossman and Pavel Kubina, the odds of the Philadelphia Flyers picking up Rick Nash appear to have lessened. Frank Seravalli of philly.com believes that with each passing hour, the Flyers – who were once considered the front runners – are less likely to deal for Nash. Reaping the Rewards Sergei Gonchar has been through his share of Trade Deadline days in his career, and this year he said he hasnt been asked to waive his no-movement clause clause, yet. Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports that Gonchar, who has a year left on his contract, doesnt want to leave Ottawa. Hes Come A Long Way Evgeni Nabokov has come a long way from not reporting to the New York Islanders last year to possibly re-signing with the club this year.
