The 13-year veteran has a 140-90 record and a 4.31 ERA with Arizona, Philadelphia, Texas and the Dodgers. He started 237 of his 330 games but pitched only in relief last year. He began the season on the disabled list while recovering from forearm surgery after going 6-5 in 2010 with a 4.07 ERA in 16 starts. The Red Sox acquired Morales from the Rockies last May. He appeared in a career-high 50 games last season for Boston and Colorado, with a 3.69 ERA. The 25-year-old Morales held opponents scoreless in 28 of 36 appearances with the Red Sox.
