Frisco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Theres good reason as to why North Dakota States national championship-winning football program doesnt beat itself on the playing field. The three-time defending FCS champion Bison, seeking an unprecedented fourth straight title on Saturday, have a roster full of smart players - both on and off the field. The Missouri Valley Football Conferences 2014 All-Academic team featured 12 players from 10 schools on the first team, and, incredibly, five of the selections were from North Dakota State, each with a grade point average over 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Its invaluable. Football is a very, very cerebral game, said Illinois State coach Brock Spack, whose team will play the Bison in the FCS championship game. Obviously, theyre a very talented team. They wouldnt win three national titles in a row or be here four years if they didnt have talent. But theyre very well coached, very disciplined and, obviously, very smart. North Dakota States MVFC All-Academic first-team selections were defensive end Kyle Emanuel (3.66 GPA), who won the 2014 Buck Buchanan Award as the FCS defensive player of the year; center Jesse Hinz (3.71); linebacker Esley Thornton (3.92); wide receiver Zach Vraa (3.51); and quarterback Carson Wentz (4.00). Free safety Christian Dudzik made the second team, and place-kicker Adam Keller and running back Chase Morlock were honorable mention selections. NDSU has a plus-12 turnover margin and ranks second in the FCS in time of possession. The Bison also rank second nationally in scoring defense and third in total defense. They have a 14-1 record this season and are 57-3 since the start of the 2011 season. Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 31 Baratas . Fernando Torres put Chelsea ahead in the 40th minute, but the game turned after his teammate Branislav Ivanovic was sent off just moments later. Three goals in 12 minutes from Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri put City firmly in control before Ryan Bertrand scored a late second for Chelsea. Nike Air Huarache España . While talking about an executive that will, at best, serve as a vocal underling to president Bryan Colangelo is hardly earth-shattering stuff, anything that distracts from the stench of cancelled games is worth diverting to for a couple of minutes. http://www.airhuarachetenisbaratas.es/zapatillas-para-nike-r oshe-run/roshe-run-one-br.html . Mike Morses two-run homer in the top of the second inning was all the offense Washington would need in a 2-1 victory. Nats starter Jason Marquis improved to 7-2 on the season with six innings of one-run ball, while Tyler Clippard threw two scoreless innings before Drew Storen posted his 13th save in the ninth. Nike Zoom Hypercross Trainer . Jackson just knows the absence of the shot-blocking centre is a big negative in the middle of the two-time champions defence. Bynum, who has little prior history of hard fouls, missed Sundays game against Portland and will sit out Tuesdays meeting with Phoenix under the suspension announced Sunday morning by the NBA. Nike Roshe One Mujer . It will be interesting to see how they do for more than one series. Smith led Kansas City for the opening score on his only series, but the Chiefs sputtered after that in a 17-13 loss in the preseason opener for both teams Friday night.(Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins will try to build off an overtime victory in the opener of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, as they host the Washington Capitals this afternoon for Game 2 of the best-of-seven series. The Bruins needed just one goal, a slap shot by Chris Kelly, to earn the victory in Thursdays Game 1 in Boston. The game-winner came just 78 seconds into the extra session after neither club was able to score through the games first 60 minutes. It may not have been the most impressive victory for the defending Stanley Cup champions, but it was still a good start to the 2012 postseason for the second-seeded Bruins. Each team had a shot in the abbreviated overtime, with reigning playoff MVP Tim Thomas kicking out a bid from Washingtons Marcus Johansson. Seconds later, Kelly beat playoff neophyte Braden Holtby to the glove side with a slap shot from the top of the left circle. "Its playoff-style hockey, no high-scoring games," Kelly said. Holtby, meanwhile, exceeded expectations in his playoff debut, stopping 29 shots before allowing the goal to Kelly. The 22-year-old Holtby is Washingtons third-string netminder, but has been forced into the starting role after injuries to Tomas Vokoun (groin) and Michal Neuvirth (left leg). However, despite an excellent overall performance in Game 1, Washingtons goaltender wouldve liked to get another crack at Kellys shot. "Just didnt react to [the shot]," Holtby admitted. Holtby was backed up by Dany Sabourin in Game 1 and that expects to be Washingtons goaltending situation for todays test as well.dddddddddddd Neuvirth has been practicing and could be close to returning from his lower-body injury, while Vokoun is still out indefinitely with his groin issues. The Capitals would also like to see star forward Alex Ovechkin get his offensive game going today. Ovechkin was held off the scoresheet on Thursday and had just one shot on net. Meanwhile, Bostons Thomas, who is a two-time Vezina Trophy winner in addition to claiming last years Conn Smythe, made 17 saves to record his sixth career playoff shutout. One concern for the Bruins heading into todays contest is the health of forward David Krejci, who sustained a sore neck after a freak accident in Game 1. Krejci was celebrating Kellys game-winner when a pane of glass separated from the boards at TD Garden and fell on top of him. The good news for Boston is that Krejci, who was third on Boston with 62 points during the regular season, says he is fine. "I got a little sore neck but other than that Im good and Ill play tomorrow," Krejci said on Thursday. Washington won three of four meetings against the Bruins during the regular season and Boston and the Caps have split a pair of all-time playoff meetings. The last time the clubs met in the postseason was in the 1998 conference quarterfinals when Washington won in six games en route to their first and only Stanley Cup Finals appearance. Boston was 24-14-3 as the home team this season, while the Capitals had a poor 16-21-4 record as the guest. Game 3 of this series is scheduled for Monday in Washington. cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys Custom hotspur jersey ' ' '
