(SportsNetwork.com) - The Buffalo Sabres will try to end the longest losing streak in franchise history when they visit the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday in a meeting between teams sitting last in their respective conferences. Buffalo has lost 12 straight -- all in regulation -- for the longest slide in club annals. The Sabres, who havent won since Dec. 27 against the New York Islanders, also are mired in the NHLs longest pointless stretch since the Pittsburgh Penguins lost 13 in a row in regulation from Jan. 13-Feb. 12, 2004. A loss of any kind tonight also would give Buffalo the longest winless stretch in team history. With Tuesdays 4-1 loss at Calgary, the Sabres matched the dubious franchise mark set from Nov. 23-Dec.20, 1991, when Buffalo went 0-8 with four ties during a 12-game span. Buffalo enters tonights tilt with an NHL-low 31 points, two less than the Oilers, who are last in the Western Conference. Edmonton beat the Sabres earlier this season, posting a 3-2 regulation win in Western New York on Nov. 7. That was the Oilers second victory in the past three meetings after losing their previous six encounters with Buffalo. The Sabres have won four straight in Edmonton, but Buffalo has lost 12 straight (0-11-1) on the road. Buffalos last win away from First Niagara Center came in Montreal on Nov. 29. Buffalo held a 1-0 lead Tuesday in Calgary, but the Flames scored the next four goals to skate away with an easy win. Chris Stewart netted the lone goal for the Sabres, while Jhonas Enroth stopped 27 shots in the setback. They turned it up a notch and we just couldnt keep up, Sabres coach Ted Nolan said. Buffalo is playing the third part of a five-game road trip tonight. Nolans club will continue the swing tomorrow in Vancouver before capping it Tuesday in Montreal. The Oilers had won two straight before the All-Star break but lost their first game after the hiatus, dropping Tuesdays 2-1 decision against visiting Minnesota. Charlie Coyle scored the game-winning goal with 4:23 remaining in the third period. Boyd Gordon provided Edmontons lone goal and Viktor Fasth stopped 27-of-29 shots in defeat. We were flat and we have to respond next game, said Gordon. Weve been playing well as of late and we saw that more in the third. After tonight, Edmonton will play two straight and eight of its next nine on the road. The road-heavy stretch begins Saturday in Calgary. cheap nfl jerseys . When you think teams you imagine a group of people who all shop at the same jersey store and move together in a large pack with a common goal, which is usually scoring goals. But at these Olympic Games the idea of becoming a team in figure skating makes perfect sense because of a new event called, shockingly, the Team Event. nfl jerseys china . The assistants greeted Aldridge with compliments and high fives. Stotts had only one word for his high-scoring forward: "Thanks." Aldridge had 25 points and 16 rebounds in his return after missing seven games with a lower back contusion, and the Trail Blazers beat the Atlanta Hawks 100-85 on Thursday night to end a three-game losing streak. http://www.jerseyscheapnfl.us.com/ . - Hall of Fame centre Bill Russell was arrested this week at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after Transportation Security Administration officials found a loaded gun in his luggage. cheap jerseys from china . -- One of the byproducts of quarterback Matt McGloins rise to the top of Oaklands depth chart last week was the production of rookie tight end Mychal Rivera. cheap jerseys . MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Russell Westbrook is putting to rest any doubts he has recovered from the knee injury that forced him to miss the first two games of the season. Westbrook scored 27 points and added nine assists to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 116-100 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Westbrooks performance against the Grizzlies followed double-doubles Tuesday night in a win over Atlanta (14 points, 11 assists) and Sunday in a victory over Indiana (26 points, 13 assists). "Im great, I feel good," said Westbrook, who was sidelined by a lateral meniscus tear to start the year. "Im taking it one day at a time and Im taking care of my body, which is most important. Im trying to get us wins." Kevin Durant, the NBAs leading scorer, added 18 points and six rebounds. Reserve guard Jeremy Lamb scored a career-high 18 points to help the Thunder to their fourth straight win and 12th in 13 games. Neither Westbrook nor Durant played in the fourth quarter, when the Thunder maintained a double-digit lead. "Russell is calming down, relaxing and just playing his game," Durant said. "He is getting confidence. We tell him when he does no one can stop him." Westbrook scored 12 points in the first seven minutes of the third quarter, including a three-point play after the Grizzlies had trimmed the Thunder lead to 13 points. The Grizzlies never got closer than 13 the rest of the way. "Russells a no-excuse player," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "We could play back-to-back, we could play four in five nights, we can play every night for a month and hes going to come in and play the game that he loves to play every night. He sets the tone for us and our guys do a great job following his lead." Mike Conley had 20 points for the Grizzlies and Zach Randolph and reserve Jon Leuer scored 17 apieece.dddddddddddd Memphis ended a season-long six-game homestand with the loss. A depleted Grizzlies squad -- missing starters Marc Gasol and Tony Allen with injuries -- stayed close to the Thunder through most of the first half and trailed 40-37 after Conleys floater in the lane with 4:19 to go in the second quarter. Then the Thunder put together a 17-5 run to end the half for a 57-42 advantage at the break. During the run, Durant had two driving dunks and Westbrook added a 3-pointer and four assists. Oklahoma City opened the third quarter by extending its lead to 20 points as Westbrook scored nine points during a 13-8 start. The Thunder boosted their advantage to as many as 24 points in the second half on several occasions giving the Thunder the luxury of resting Durant and Westbrook. "The first five minutes of the third quarter were probably the most important of the game," Westbrook said. "We wanted to come out and set the tone early defensively and we did a good job of that." The Thunder were playing back-to-back games after defeating the Hawks Tuesday night in Atlanta. The Thunder, who shot 61 per cent in a win over Indiana on Sunday, shot 56 per cent against the Grizzlies. Memphis shot 42 per cent and was outrebounded, 42-33. "The Thunder is a good team," Leuer said. "This is what they do. They go on runs. We tried to limit their easy stuff, but they got a few open looks and got into a rhythm after that." NOTES: Thunder reserve centre Steven Adams sprained his right ankle in the second half and didnt return. ... Grizzlies guard Tony Allen missed his fourth straight game with a right hip contusion and reserve forward Ed Davis missed his third straight with a left ankle sprain. ...
