BFA President Tebogo Sebego confirmed the appointment of the former player to the media on Monday, although the appointment is yet to be made official. Sebego advised that the new coach will be officially revealed at a press conference on Wednesday.
"Indeed we have identified someone to fill the position of head coach at the senior team, He is already in the country and ready to start his duties once his appointment is made official," he said.

Botswana has been without a coach since the sacking of Stanley Tshosane in October 2013. The former coach was relieved of his duties following a prolonged period of poor performances that saw the team being knocked out in the early stages of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
