(Sports Network) - Dan Haren has a tough act to follow tonight when the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim start a four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays at Angel Stadium. Haren takes the hill tonight on the heels of Jered Weavers no-hitter, trying to win his second straight start. After a shaky start to the year Haren has seemingly found his groove and was terrific on Saturday in Cleveland, as he held the Tribe to a run and four hits in eight innings to run his record to 1-1, while lowering his earned run average to 3.34. Over his past three starts, spanning 22 innings, Haren has pitched to a 1.64 earned run average. "Weve gone a couple of times around the rotation now where were getting the pitching that we feel we expected," Halos manager Mike Scioscia said. "We just havent been able to match it with the offensive support to take advantage of it, but that pitching is really the hallmark of our club, and we need to keep getting those good starts after good starts." Everything clicked for the Angels on Wednesday against Minnesota, as Weaver tossed the 10th no-hitter in franchise history, pacing the Halos to a 9-0 win. With his family and friends looking on Weaver watched as nine-time Gold Glove winner Torii Hunter hauled in Alexi Casillas liner to right to complete the majors second no-hitter this season. Weaver tipped his cap and waved to his family and friends in the crowd, while the rest of the jubilant home faithful broke into chants of "Weaver! Weaver! Weaver!" "To have my family and friends here, its an unbelievable night. Its surreal, its an awesome moment," commented Weaver. Weaver (4-0) completely overwhelmed Minnesota the entire night. He fanned nine while walking just one and threw 77 of his 121 pitches for strikes. Although Weaver didnt need much help from the offense, the Angels proceeded to score nine runs -- all in the first four frames -- on 15 hits in the finale of a three-game set. Howie Kendrick was 4-for-4 with a three-run home run and three runs scored for Los Angeles, which has won four of its last five games. Albert Pujols, though, continued to struggle and was 1-for-5 and is now hitting a mere .208. Toronto, meanwhile, begins a 10-game road trip after taking two of three from the Texas Rangers. In Wednesdays rubber match, Ricky Romero struck out six over eight strong innings to remain unbeaten as the Blue Jays rolled to an 11-5 win. Romero (4-0) surrendered five runs on six hits and three walks, Yunel Escobar added three hits, including a three-run triple, and Edwin Encarnacion belted a three-run blast for the Jays, who have won four of their last five. "Thats a tough team, a tough lineup," said Romero about the Rangers. "I thought I did a pretty good job at throwing strikes and keeping them off balance." Tonight, the Jays hand the ball to righty Brandon Morrow, who is 2-1 with a 3.03 ERA. Morrow won his second straight start on Saturday against Seattle, as he scattered five hits and struck out nine over six scoreless innings. He had allowed a run in 6 2/3 innings to win his previous start. "He has this capability every time he steps to the mound," Blue Jays manager John Farrell said. "When you combine a well-above-average fastball with the command that he showed today in addition to three other offspeed pitches, he has the ability to not only take over the game, but dominate the opposition." Morrow has faced the Angels 16 times (three starts) and is 0-3 against them with a 5.03 ERA. PHILADELPHIA -- R.A. Dickey used one knuckleball after another to work out of jams. Dickey threw seven sharp innings, Jason Bay hit a two-run homer and the New York Mets beat Cliff Lee and the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2 on Friday night. Scott Hairston also homered for the surprising Mets, who are off to a 5-2 start. Freddy Galvis hit his first major league homer for the Phillies. The five-time defending NL East champs are 3-4. Dickey (2-0) allowed just one run despite nine hits. The righty struck out seven and lowered his ERA against Philadelphia to 2.40 in seven career starts. "I had a lot of baserunners, thats for sure," Dickey said. "But ultimately the game comes down to four or five pitches. Fortunately I was able to make the pitch. Cliff Lee is one of the best. He outpitched me in a lot of ways. But we were able to make the big pitch and minimize the damage." Dickey has compiled 14 straight quality starts -- six or more innings with three earned runs or less -- dating to July 25. "You come to expect that from him," manager Terry Collins said. "When he takes the mound, his sole purpose is to keep the team in the game for as long as he could." Lee (0-1) gave up four runs and five hits in seven innings, striking out seven. He allowed just nine runs in his previous 11 starts, spanning 83 2-3 innings. The Mets played without David Wright for the third straight game. The five-time All-Star third baseman has a broken right pinkie, but he could be in the lineup Saturday. Collins didnt rule out a stint on the disabled list if Wright cant play. Justin Turner filled in for Wright and made an outstanding defensive play on Shane Victorinos hard one-hopper in the seventh. The Mets came out swinging against Lee. Ruben Tejada lined a double to left to start the game and Daniel Murphy followed with an RBI double. Lee got the next two outs before Bay launched a drive to the seats in right-centre to make it 3-0. "You cant let good pitchers dominate you," Collins said. "If you get something you can hit, you better hit it." Galvis got the Philllies within 3-1 when he led off the third with a towering shot to right.dddddddddddd The rookie received the silent treatment from teammates when he returned to the dugout before they walked over to give him hugs and high-fives. Hairston hit a deep drive to left leading off the fifth to put the Mets up 4-1. "I felt fine," Lee said. "Location was off at the start of the game." Mets catcher Josh Thole made an embarrassing mental blunder in the second after reaching on an infield single. Dickey bunted him over to second, but Thole thought the ball went foul and started jogging back to first. He was tagged out for a double play. "I was coming into second and Jimmy (Rollins) put his hands up like, You can come in easy," Thole said. "I checked and saw it was fair, but I took off back to first for no reason. It was a lackadaisical play." Dickey was disappointed he didnt get credit for a sacrifice. "Off Cliff Lee, thats absurd," he joked. "Im glad we can laugh about it now." Lee ripped line-drive singles in his first two at-bats. He came out for pinch-hitter Laynce Nix in the seventh. Nix grounded into a double play.
