It took 13 rounds of a shootout but the Brampton Battalion edged the Ottawa 67s 3-2 in Ontario Hockey League action on Sunday afternoon. "We were pretty close to using up all of our forwards in the shootout," said Battalion head coach Stan Butler. "We had to get some defencemen involved there." Brett Mackie scored the deciding shootout goal for Brampton (12-6-2). Sam Carrick and Barclay Goodrow scored in regulation for the Battalion while Shane Prince and Ben Dubois scored for the 67s (12-6-3). Keegan Wilson made 18 saves for the win as Petr Mrazek stopped 41 shots in defeat. The Battalion went 1-for-3 on the power play as the 67s failed to capitalize on their lone opportunity with the man advantage. Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Kingston 5, Saginaw 3; Kitchener 3, Guelph 2 (SO); Sarnia 4, Mississauaga 2; Plymouth 7, Erie 1; Windsor 8, Sault Ste. Marie 0 and Belleville 2, Oshawa 0 (SO). At Brampton, Ont., Carrick opened the scoring 7:36 into the first period on the power play to give the Battalion a 1-0 lead. Prince scored for the 67s at 13:50, making it 1-1 heading into the first intermission.
