A lot of people were judging Malcolm Subban on what he did in the selection camp, he wasnt very good that week, and on what he did in the pre-tournament games, when he was just okay. And then in Canadas first two games of the tournament he gives up six goals combined against Germany and Slovakia. People were asking questions; they were all answered on Sunday. Subban was brilliant against the US. He showed the kind of temperament and talent goalie coach Ron Tugnett and head coach Steve Spott knew he possesses. Thats why the Boston Bruins took him in the first round, and why he was anointed the number one goaltender even though he wasnt coming off the best two week period of his life. Sunday was a spectacular performance by Subban at one end and John Gibson – a Kitchener Ranger goaltender drafted by the Anaheim Ducks – at the other end; a great goaltending battle. Penalty Kill Prowess The Americans scored one goal on the power play but on the day, a tremendous job in front of Subban killing penalties. Terrific jobs by Dougie Hamilton, Scott Harrington, Phillip Danault, you name it. They stepped up, they boxed guys out well, and they took pucks away from the Americans. Subban, of course, was terrific, especially in that four-minute stretch in the second period when Griffin Reinhart went off with a double minor for high-sticking. But the guys in front of him, particularly the guys on the blue line were absolutely terrific. Power Play Troubles The lack of success on the 5-on-3 power play in the third period almost came back to bite them. The Americans got a little silly with their penalties, but Canada generated not much of anything outside of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins hitting the crossbar once. And then Nugent-Hopkins comes up with an uncharacteristically bad penalty that put Canada on the penalty kill to finish the game. That one could have come back to bite Canada in a big way, but the penalty kill again was good. Its something for the coaches to work on moving forward, making sure Canada doesnt take those late penalties. Marcus Sherels Jersey . Jason Heyward added three hits, including a three-run homer, for the Braves, who have won four of their last six. We won three games from the world champs, said Chipper Jones, so our confidence is at a different level than it was a week ago. Mistral Raymond Vikings Jersey .C. -- Kyle Larson picked up his first NASCAR national series win on Sunday by holding off Joey Logano on the final restart of the Truck Series race at Rockingham Speedway. http://www.thevikingsusjerseys.com/Womens-Scott-Crichton-Aut hentic-Jersey/ .C. -- Jim Larranaga snipped the final strand of net hanging from the rim, then faced his players and cheering fans to twirl it in the air before draping it around his neck. Vikings Jersey .K. and Boston Bruins first-round pick Malcolm, gave him any advice about the event. "Well, P.K. was sleeping so I couldnt talk to him," said a grinning Jordan, who is poised to become the third Subban brother drafted when NHL teams converge on New Jerseys Prudential Center on June 30. Michael Harris Vikings Jersey . Ilya Bryzgalov made 28 saves to record his second shutout in three games and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Florida Panthers 5-0 on Thursday night for their fourth straight win. HOUSTON -- The Atlanta Braves left Houston in a much better mood than when they arrived in Texas. Jason Heyward homered and drove in two runs, David Ross hit a two-run double in his 2012 debut and the Braves beat the Astros 6-3 on Wednesday night. Atlanta was swept in its opening series at New York, then lost to Houston on Monday to drop to 0-4. But it bounced back with two consecutive wins against the Astros to take the series and gain some momentum heading into Fridays home opener. "It stinks to lose and its nice to win a series and hopefully this puts us on a little roll," Ross said. Ross, the backup catcher, drove in Chipper Jones and Dan Uggla with a double to centre in the fourth, giving the Braves a 3-1 lead. Heyward, who finished with three hits, added an insurance run with his solo shot to right in the eighth. "That was definitely a momentum killer for them," Heyward said of his homer. The performance by Ross came a night after Jones came off the disabled list and hit a two-run homer to lead the Braves to their first win of the year after starting 0-4 for the first time since 1988. Heyward also had a tying RBI single in the second. J.D. Martinez homered and drove in two runs for the Astros, who committed four errors after not making any since having four on opening day. "They made a couple of miscues and we took advantage of it which is good to see," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. Atlanta starter Randall Delgado (1-0) struck out six in five innings while yielding two runs and five hits. Houston left-hander Wandy Rodriguez (0-1) gave up four runs, three earned, and six hits in five innings. The Astros loaded the bases in the fourth and seventh, but got just one run out of those opportunities. They also put runners at first and third with two outs in the ninth before Craig Kimbrel struck out Carlos Lee for his second save. "Tonight was another tough night; we could not get the big hit," Lee said. "But if we keep putting ourselves in this position, the hits will come." Gonzalez credited Ross for helping the 22-year-old Delgado get out of some jjams and raved about his value to the team.dddddddddddd "He runs the pitching staff," Gonzalez said of Ross. "He knows his role and those guys are hard to find. He complements (catcher Brian McCann) terrifically. Its a nice piece to have." Atlanta increased its lead to 6-3 when Martin Prado scored on right fielder Justin Maxwells throwing error in the ninth. The Astros trimmed the Braves lead to 4-3 in the seventh, but couldnt come up with a big hit to take control. They loaded the bases with one out, but Eric OFlaherty got Martinez to fly out to right. Lee walked to force in a run before pinch hitter Matt Downs bounced into a fielders choice. The Braves went in front for good in the fourth. Jones hit a leadoff single and Uggla reached on an error by rookie shortstop Marwin Gonzalez. Heyward singled to load the bases and Ross double drove in two. Jack Wilsons sacrifice scored Heyward to stretch the lead to 4-1. An error by Rodriguez allowed Delgado to reach with one out and he walked Prado with two outs. But Rodriguez was able to limit the damage by striking out Freddie Freeman. "Wandy, he really got frustrated with himself," Astros manager Brad Mills said. "We had a good talk after he came out of the game. He really let that 0-2 double to Ross get to him. He let that pitch get to him, and the inning really kind of deteriorated after that." Delgado was struck by Martinezs comebacker in the fifth, but remained in the game after a trainer came out to look at his left foot. Jordan Schafer scored on the play, cutting Atlantas lead to 4-2. NOTES: Braves RHP Tim Hudson, on the disabled list after back surgery, is scheduled to make his second rehabilitation start on Thursday night for Single-A Rome. He allowed one earned run with four hits in three innings in his first start there on Saturday. ... Houston SS Jed Lowrie, on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right thumb, is expected to be activated from the DL on Friday. ... Both teams are off Thursday before the Braves open their home schedule against Milwaukee and Houston travels to Miami. cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys Mamadou Tounkara Jersey ' ' '
