Minnesota Wild 2 Winnipeg Jets 1 – The loss snapped the Jets win streak at four, and dropped their road record to 3-5-1. Eight of the nine road games have been decided by one goal. The Jets got off to a slow start and were outshot 9-2 in the first period but were only down 1-0. Mikko Koivu had the only goal. Jets got going in the second and outshot the Wild 14-8 but could not beat Josh Harding. The best chance was a blast from Dustin Byfuglien from the edge of the circle that Harding made a glove save on. Blake Wheeler had a career-tying five shots on goal in the second. The Jets tied the game just 54 seconds into the third on a goal that initially was credited to Bryan Little, but later changed to Byfuglien. It was his fourth goal in the past four games. Wheeler drew an assist. Ondrej Pavelec made a number of big saves throughout the game and it looked as though these two teams were bound for overtime. The last three Jets games were decided by a shootout, while three of the last four games for the Wild have gone to overtime. However, a faceoff after an icing call, the Wilds top line connected for the game winner for the second time in as many games. Friday against Florida it was Charlie Coyle with the winner in the third, in this game Coyle set up Koivu for his second of the night. The goal coming at 16:48 of the third. Final shots favoured Minnesota 24-22. With the win the Wild have now won six straight at home and are 10-1-1 in their last 12. The two teams meet in Winnipeg Saturday afternoon.Jets will play three straight at home starting with their third back-to-back of the season with Calgary Flames at the MTS Centre Monday. It will be the Flames first game in Winnipeg since the Jets returned to the NHL. Thursday the Jets are home to Chicago, and then the Wild game Saturday afternoon. All three games on TSN Jets and TSN 1290. Wheeler ended the night with eight shots on goal, a season high but one short of his career high. With Zach Bogosian out week to week with a groin injury, Keaton Ellerby played a season high 22:09, paired with Toby Enstrom. Zach Redmond in his first game of the year played 11:25 and was paired most the game with Adam Pardy. "We played a pretty good road game," stated Coach Claude Noel post game. "We got a bad start because we didnt shoot the puck, especially from our D. "We made some changes after the first and played a reasonable game. Tough game to lose. A mistake led to an icing that led to a D zone face-off that led to the goal." Tough night in the face off department with the Wild winning 63%. Mens Lime Turquoise Nike Roshe Run HYP QS Shoes UK . He succeeds Chad Mottola, who spent one year in the position after Dwayne Murphy moved from hitting coach to first-base coach after the 2012 campaign. Seitzer, 51, served as hitting coach for the Kansas City Royals from 2009-12. The 2010 Royals team was second in Major League Baseball with a .274 average and the 11 squad was fourth at .275. "For me the bottom line as far as philosophy and approach is really making consistent hard contact," Seitzer said on a conference call. "And thats why the thinking, the plan of hitting the ball in the middle of the field, staying gap to gap, gives you a better chance to put the barrel of the bat on the ball." The Blue Jays are coming off a disappointing 73-89 season. Toronto had a team average of .252 this passt year, 15th in the majors.dddddddddddd Toronto was fourth in home runs with 185 and 11th in RBIs with 669, and the team had the sixth fewest strikeouts. Seitzer, a native of Springfield, Ill., also served as hitting coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the first half of the 2007 season. As a player, he finished runner-up for Rookie of the Year to Mark McGwire in 1987. He was an all-star that year with the Royals and again in 1995 with the Milwaukee Brewers. Over 12 big-league seasons, Seitzer had a .295 average with 74 home runs and 613 RBIs for the Royals, Brewers, Oakland Athletics and Cleveland Indians. The team previously announced that Mottola and Murphy will not return for the 2014 campaign. Bench coach DeMarlo Hale, pitching coach Pete Walker, third-base coach Luis Rivera and bullpen coach Pat Hentgen will return in their current roles under manager John Gibbons. The Blue Jays have yet to find a replacement for Murphy.
