(SportsNetwork.com) - The Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings are ready to put all the talk and hype surrounding their meeting at Dodger Stadium behind them. The two Pacific Division rivals kick start the NHLs "Stadium Series" on Saturday night when they complete a home-and-home series outside at Dodger Stadium. The clubs will meet for the second outdoor game of this NHL schedule. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings began the extended slate of games outside on Jan. 1 at Michigan Stadium, with the Leafs notching a 3-2 shootout victory in the Winter Classic. The success of previous versions of that event, as well as the Heritage Classic in Canada, prompted the NHL to expand its schedule of games outside. Saturdays game is the first of four in the "Stadium Series" as the New York Rangers will play the New Jersey Devils on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium before returning to the famous grounds for a game against the New York Islanders on Wednesday. Later in the season, the Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins will square off at Soldier Field in the Windy City on March 1 before the Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators battle the following day in the Heritage Classic. That game will be played at BC Place, which features a retractable roof. Californias first ever outdoor NHL game is also the first played by the league in the U.S. west of the Mississippi River during the regular season. The Kings, though, have played outdoors before as they faced off against the Rangers in the parking lot of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Sept. 27, 1991 in a preseason game played despite an 85-degree temperature. Wayne Gretzky had a goal in that game for Los Angeles. While this contest will be of larger scale and of more importance, it has also required a ton of attention for both teams. Anaheims Ryan Getzlaf noted after a loss to Winnipeg on Wednesday that the outdoor game has caused a lot of distractions. Getzlafs words came after the Ducks lost their first game at home in regulation this season, but they bounced back on Thursday to beat the Kings 2-1 and improve to 21-1-2 as the hosting team this season. That ties the 2008-09 San Jose Sharks as the second-best home record through 24 games in NHL history, with both teams going 21-1-2 to trail only the Montreal Canadiens 1943-44 home start of 21-0-3. The King struck first on Thursday thanks to a first-period tally by Anze Kopitar, but Dustin Penner tied the contest on the power play with 6:09 to go in the second period before Patrick Maroon notched the winning goal with 2:07 to play in the frame. Frederik Andersen stopped 30 shots for the Ducks, who have won 20 of their last 23 games and lead the NHL with 81 points. That is nine more than the second-place Sharks and 17 up on the Kings, who lead Vancouver by just three points for the third and final automatic playoff bid in the division. "One game in January doesnt mean were a better team than them," said Ducks forward Ben Lovejoy. "They played a great game tonight. We were one goal better than them, barely. Were two very evenly matched teams, and we need to bring it on Saturday in order to be successful." The Ducks will play five in a row at home after this game and have lost their last five games as the visitor in this series. The two clubs have split two meetings this season, with the Kings notching a 3-2 shootout win in Anaheim on Dec. 3, and Los Angeles has won eight of the previous 12 encounters overall. Jonathan Quick made 19 saves for the Kings, who won the opener of a five-game road trip on Jan. 16 in St. Louis before dropping the final four games of the trek. "We came up short," Kopitar said. "Thats something we have to learn from. We cant just give up soft goals and easy goals." Quick is 13-6-2 with a 2.41 goals against average in 23 games during his career versus the Ducks, who are likely to go back to Jonas Hiller in net tonight. Hiller has allowed six goals total in back-to-back losses after winning 14 straight and is 8-8-3 with a 2.43 GAA lifetime versus the Kings. Adidas Superstar Supercolor Mujer . Jay Feely kicked a 41-yard field goal in overtime, and the Cardinals edged the Tennessee Titans 37-34 in overtime after blowing a 17-point lead late in the fourth quarter. Thousands of Southern California fans enveloped the Trojans to celebrate an improbable win secured by an interim coach, an inconsistent kicker and a thin defence that wouldnt break. Zetterberg has 11 goals and 19 assists for a team-high 30 points, and Datsyuk has a team-high 12 goals and 11 assists. Adidas Superstar 2 Mujer Baratas . After the whistle, Thornton skated the length of the ice, pulled Orpik to the ice from behind and punched him in the face several times.WINNIPEG -- Jovon Johnson isnt surprised its his turn to be pulled into the upside-down world thats been the struggling Winnipeg Blue Bombers 2013 season. The CFLs top defensive player in 2011 will switch from cornerback to safety when Winnipeg (2-9) hosts the Edmonton Eskimos (2-9) tonight. Watch the game live on TSN and TSN Mobile TV at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. Injuries are also forcing two new offensive linemen who began practising Tuesday to make their CFL debuts in the battle between the leagues two worst teams. Edmonton snapped an eight-game losing streak last weekend with a 25-7 home win over the Bombers. "Ive been in the defence probably longer than all of our coaches so I know whats going on, I know the defence inside and out," Johnson said after Thursdays walkthrough. "It makes more sense to move me to safety and switch one guy versus moving three guys that are all rookies into different spots and having them learn new jobs on the fly." Johnson, who hasnt played safety since November 2011, replaces the injured Cauchy Muamba (ankle). Defensive back Marty Markett will move to Johnsons corner spot. Edmonton head coach Kavis Reed predicted Johnson will do just fine with his new role. "Jovon is a very cerebral football player," Reed said. "I know hell be able to make all the checks. "Hes more explosive than people think and hes very instinctive. And those are a lot of the qualities of a free safety." After injuries to veteran offensive tackles Glenn January and Shannon Boatman, the Bombers brought in Americans Dan Knapp and Jarvis Jones and theyll see action at right and left tackle, respectively. "Its strange but Im actually excited about it," said Knapp, who played in four NFL exhibition games last year with the Oakland Raiders. The biggest differences Knapp must adjust to are the new rules and defences lining up a yard off the ball. "Its something Ive got to adjust to, but Ive been playing this game since the sixth grade," he said. "It comes natural, to a certain extent." Edmonton defensive ends Marcus Howard and Odell Willis will try to take advantage of the newcomers. "Hopefully I can and hopefully I do because if I dont the guys will get on me," Howard said. Howard noted he joined the Eskimos three years ago on a Wednesday and got into the lineup two days later because of an injury to current Bomber Greg Peach. Willis said there may be a few CFL "tricks" they can throw at Knapp and Jones, but he doesnt expect the newcomers to be too out of sync. "Even though theyre two new tackles, I dont think this will be their first time playing football," Willis said. Knapp and Jones will have the task of helping protect starter Max Hall, anotther change from last weeks roster.dddddddddddd. For those trying to keep track of Winnipegs quarterback carousel, former Bomber Buck Pierce (traded to B.C. on Sept. 8 for receiver Akeem Foster) started the clubs first four games before being injured. Justin Goltz then started two games, Hall the two after that before Goltz returned to start the last three contests. The six-foot-four Foster will also play his first game for the Bombers, replacing injured receiver Cory Watson. Bombers head coach Tim Burke said Hall was projected to be the No. 1 quarterback prior to being injured in Winnipegs 37-14 road loss to Hamilton, just two plays into his second career start. But then, Goltz did relatively well in relief. Since Hall replaced a struggling Goltz in last weekends game and showed flashes of being able to move the offence, Burke wants to see if he can do so for the remainder of the season. "I hope so," Burke said. "That would be great." He added Jason Boltus will back up Hall ahead of Goltz. Winnipeg is last in the CFL in scoring (224 points), first downs (174) and passing (2,237 yards), second-last in fumbles (20) and fifth in rushing (1,029 yards). Having newcomers Knapp and Jones on the line isnt a big concern for Hall. "Physically, theyre both good players," Hall said. "Theyre very capable guys. "Ill trust theyll play well. I have to. I cant worry about it. I cant look at the rush. I have to go through my reads and trust those guys will do it." Edmontons offence is tied with Montreal for second-last in scoring (259 points), ranked sixth in first downs (204), third in rushing (1,162 yards) and has a league-low 12 fumbles. The Eskimos roster remains basically intact since last week and the offence will again be spearheaded by quarterback Mike Reilly. Reilly was named the CFLs offensive player of the week after completing 16-of-25 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns while rushing nine times for a career-high 113 yards versus Winnipeg. Reillys 530 rushing yards are tops among CFL quarterback and fifth overall. "Its something thats worked to this point and anytime its available were going to use it," Reilly said. "But I dont think its something you want to use at the expense of taking away your pass plays." NOTES: Winnipeg hasnt thrown a touchdown pass in its last four games and has just five this season . . . Edmontons Fred Stamps is the CFLs leading receiver with 44 catches for 821 yards and nine TDs. A 10th touchdown grab would be his career-best . . . Winnipeg has trailed by 20 or more points in six of its last eight games . . . The Bombers will be trying for their 600th all-time win (in game No. 1,164). Edmonton is the only CFL club to have more than 600 wins.
